The II. Working Group Meeting of the \u201cModular Energy Islands for Sustainability and Resilience\u201d (MODERENLANDS<\/a>) Project of the\u00a0COST Association<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 European Cooperation in Science and Technology\u00a0CA20109<\/a>, of which CEEE\/E\u00c7EM Director Prof. M. Pinar Menguc is also a member of the management committee was hosted by CEEE\/E\u00c7EM under the leadership of COST Association coordinators Prof. Carlos Rebelo and Prof. Charalampos Baniotopoulos on 7-8 September 2023 in Istanbul. MODENERLANDS is one of the COST Association projects that systematically brings together the work of European Research and Development (R&D) groups working on Sustainable Energy and related technologies, in particular wind and wave energy sources.<\/p>\n On the first day of the event, leading scientists in their field focused on the subject from different perspectives in various working groups. On the second day, the event started with a panel moderated by Prof. Meng\u00fc\u00e7. Olcayto Yigit, former general manager of Vestas Turkey, and Erin\u00e7 KISA, vice president of T\u00dcREB, attended the panel as invited speakers. In his speech titled Turkey\u2019s Onshore and Offshore Wind Energy Potential and Market Developments, Erin\u00e7 K\u0131sa talked about wind energy projects that set a precedent in Turkey. Olcayto Yi\u011fit, in his speech titled Energy Islands, looked from a wide spectrum and drew attention to the relationship between wind energy, technology and industry.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The II.
