Yaklaş’18

YAKLAŞ’2018 event was a reflection of CEEE works to transdisciplinary studies. The TTT team inclu ded M. Pınar Mengüç, Özlem Bahadır Karaoğlu, Gökçe Ersel Ötkün and Dilek Saygı, and focu sed on four themes: “Thinking inside and outside the box,” “Performance,” “Impact,” and “Action!” There were four different panels for each of these themes. The first one, “Thinking inside and outside the box,” was directed by Mengüç and included the discussions by Alpay Er, Özge Samancı, Deniz Sert and Selenga Gürmen. Tanju Erdem, Alper Ünlü and Özlem Özkal discussed the “Performance” which was moderated by Özlem Bahadır Karaoğlu. During the “Impact” session, Özyeğin University Rector Esra Gençtürk, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen and CEEE Director M. Pınar Mengüç discussed what can be done for the society.

Finally, the “Action!” was mo derated by Gökçe Ersel Ötkün, and included Özlem Yener Çakmut, Ümit Özlale and Güray Erkol. The most important skill of the 21st century is the ability to work as teams and collaboratively with people from different backgrounds and with different skills. With this in mind, the second day of YAKLAŞ’2018 event focused on 11 topics with the participation of the 3rd and the 4th year undergraduate students from different disciplines. In these Workshops, mixeddisciplinary teams tackled different problems with facilitators, carried out brainstorming sessions and developed a collective strategy. Özyeğin University faculty members facilitated the workshops and students from 18 different departments, from law to gastronomy, aviation management and economics, took place in the discussions.
